Does anyone make one? I have a Orion Starblast 4.5 that was given to me by my wife as a wedding present. My only complaint about it is the horrible rack and pinion focuser. Orion makes a 2in that will fit with modifications to the tube but i would perfer one that only required new screw holes to be drilled.

Dang, you're right! Too much wine at the Christmas party I guess. Sorry.

More searching by me doesn't turn up one, but the Crawford Machine folk say they can do one off parts. Maybe shoot them an email?

Sorry i took so long but i have talked to crawford for a week now and hes going to make one a 1.25in focusor for my Refelctor. I shipped him my stock focusor to use as a template and he should get it thursday.

How much total investment for the upgrade?

The total price was $109.95 for the Focuser Plus shipping back which was like 10 bucks to Chicago. The New Focuser should be here later this week. If you are good at taking the measurements you wont need to send you stock one but I did so there wouldn't be any mistakes on my end. I will post pictures when it arrives.

The upgrade will be a vast improvement over the stock focuser by miles.

I dig mine on the C11 SCT and invaluable for astrophotography.

Unfortunately Crawford has been unable to make a focuser explaining that the base is just to small and he cancelled the order today. I have decided to give up on this and just use the stock one for now until the future when I can buy a scope with the Crayford style from the factory.

That's too bad.
Mfg just don't feel there is a market to produce a 1.25" crayford focuser for owners of smaller newts.

Also in this depressed used market, one can upgrade to a used 8in newt with crayford focuser, and maybe with dual speed, for as little as $250. Way cheaper than the sum of its parts.
