I'll bet that if the action were filmed as originally planned with four Chicago Astronomers at the Adler, rather than two replacements in a suburban park, the scene would have made cinematic history and garnered numerous Emmy Awards. C'est la vie.
It's too bad that the Chicago Bears opening game thwarted the acting careers of several Chicago Astronomers last year. However the Chicagoland premier of Coin Toss has been scheduled on a Sunday during which the Bears will not play.
It will be presented at the Hollywood Blvd Cinema in Woodridge on Sunday, September 16th at 10:30 am. I have a minor role.
Tickets to the plush seats are $8.00 cash at the door or $8.50 in advance through PayPal, and include soda pop, popcorn and two tickets to future shows. You can order extra food and drinks (alcoholic too) brought to the table near your seat by a server.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, I was the only Chicago Astronomer in Coin Toss. Even the replacements I found for some of you were in scenes that were deleted. The scripted meteor heading for the car became a bullet. In any event, Coin Toss is now a DVD: cointossmovie.com/Buy.html . Thanks to those of you who had volunteered to become extras. It was a bit worse for my brother and a few others who actually participated but fell to the cutting room floor.
