This has been an unusual wet spring.

The jet stream has been pushed far north and bringing monsoon-like skies for the Midwest. But Friday evening looks like we might get a break...at least for a few hours.

I will set up scopes by the Adler area by 8:00 pm Friday evening and close up at 11:00 pm. I may set-up by the West side of the Adler or the east lakeside....look for the scopes.

Saturn will be highlighted and is fast sinking away - already passing the meridian at sunset.

Stop by if free or in the area for a pleasant clear evening by the lakefront and the Chicago Astronomers.

We waited till the last possible moment for a decision....

But tonight's Chicago Astronomer Star Party is ...Cancelled.

We just can't get out from under this cloud cover....evnb though the forecast calls for a clear evening.

We are going to try for tomorrow evening instead.

Was really hoping to come out tonight, since I don't have to work. Trying to wait out the clouds here in NWI. I won't be able to come out tomorrow. I'm not sure if tomorrow night's weather will cooperate either.

Chicago Astronomer Bill and I were just waiting for a break...any break in the cloud cover to head out....but none were to be had.

It doesn't look good until at least this coming Tuesday at the earliest.

Stay tuned.

But....

I'm going to try for some Jupiter imaging early this morning outside my garage.
