About time the Chicago Astronomer got a flyer out
The Chicago Astronomer has been sharing the night skies with the public since even before 2004, when I started this on-line site as a simple place to store my observations and a place for the general public to inquire about urban astronomy. During the ride, I have made some very nice astro buddies who share the love of the skies like I do.
This site took off larger than I ever expected - with bigger things coming....including a permanent website at www.chicagoastronomer.com , (just a holding page for now and getting hits), where we can expand and solicit at our hearts desire.
Early on, I had a simple flyer out, long lost now....and passed them out to my visitors who came up to my modest 4.5" reflector and wanted to remain connected. (We had some great times together and showed hundreds the cosmos... ). I gave up the flyer for business cards, which work very well and I have gone through thousands over the years.
But, with all the great crowds we have been attending to, I am just about out of cards. A good thing really and I have to make some more....but in the meantime, I'm without anything to pass out at star parties and observation sessions.
Back comes the flyer.
We have a new logo and social media links to promote - and this beta 1 flyer will be used for awhile...until we find out what works and what is a dud. I'm even hip to include a QR code, for those to scan it with their Smartphones. This flyer will be included in the astro materials that I have recently received from Astronomy Magazine....a big heavy box of very cool lunar maps and reference flyers.
Revisions on the CA flyer are a certain, but any input is welcome & appreciated.
