Hello All,It's been over 60 years and the solution to UFOs still eludes us. So I think it's time for action. We are trying to get the world to say "Hello" to ETon a certain day as one world.This is an attempt to put the question of ET existence to rest once and for all.

I therefore ask you to read the piece below and consider it. If you have questions, post them.



Operation Asking:

We ask ET to come to our skies globally on the date given so that we can begin to clear up the confusion that humanity has about them. I, like many people, have a picture based on the sum total of my experiences, and this picture, when compared to what other people have to say, is, as usual, different. The confusion level in this topic is too high, and it must be dealt with. Operation Asking will be the first step in an attempt to eliminate this confusion, and where we go from here will be based on the outcome of this first attempt at contact. Also, it needs to be understood that there is NO leadership in this picture. The idea is to get the word out globally and each and every person who wishes to try this will stand on their own two feet and simply pass the word along to every spot on the globe. This is NOT a “me” project – this is a “humanity” project. I will answer questions if necessary, but the idea is that people need to focus on themselves and on completing this project if they want it done: the picture is super-simple.

The date used in this (Wed. 7 / 20 / 2011 @ 5:20 AM Greenwich time) only has to do with my final conclusions and is NOT something people have to adopt as a belief; remember, we are putting aside doctrinal differences. Everyone is free to continue to believe whatever they choose regarding ET, including the notion that ET is here to do us harm. I have never had an ounce of trouble from them since 1955 when my experiences began, and there are others who say the same thing. One side or the other is wrong in this dual-aspect picture, and we will hopefully clear THIS problem up once and for all.

This date of 7 / 20 / 11 marks the time when the Orion nebula rises with the sun as viewed from Stonehenge. The nebula is the archetype for a symbol that we have lost, whose age goes back some 40,000 years. Stonehenge was chosen for its ancient history and ancient picture, and for no other connecting reason. This is OUR date and OUR picture for this - period. No one is forcing anyone to believe what I have found concerning it.

Regarding the why's of this “asking to come”:

In the topic of UFOs one picture has remained constant - the overall uniform confusion and resultant guesswork regarding ET and their flitting presence in our skies. In all of these years of ‘things happening’, there is still no uniform consensus as to what is going on, so, on the date selected, we are ‘ASKING THEM’ to provide the people of earth with evidence of their presence and put at least that much of the problem to rest. For those who believe the so-called “Powers That Be” have this type of flying technology and could fool us, let me just say that even if this was true and they had flying UFO-like craft, they cannot have as many ships as it would take to fill our skies on a global level – so, that ends THAT problem. Also, we are NOT asking for a landing, as quite frankly I believe this would upset a great many people, and the appearance in the sky, for some, would be upsetting enough. The picture involved is really no different than a young child's first look out of a window, and learning that there is more to his or her world than the house they live in. As the child grows, the picture of the world becomes larger still; this is just the next step in that picture's enlargement.

Regarding the HOW'S of "asking" ET to show up on that date, I leave this up to you. Some people, like myself, know for a fact their life is closely monitored; others are not sure. Do whatever you feel you should do to get a message out to them, if indeed you feel this is even necessary. Personally, I feel they watch everything here and know exactly what’s going on, so I do not believe there will be a problem.

One last thing ... there is no way this arrival can be guaranteed to happen – we are asking; there may be things we do not know about. Personally, I think it will happen as they have been doing this for decades, just not in a global organized manor. Also, we are not asking them to fly over restricted airspace and cause a military panic (even though this seems to happen fairly regularly). We are leaving the ‘hows’ of this picture up to them.

I believe the time has come for us as a people to grow up and meet the neighbors. I believe the time has come to TRY and eliminate the questions we have been plagued with for decades regarding ET and their presence here. It seems the world leaders cannot be trusted to share what they know - if indeed they know anything. This is OUR planet – not theirs - and we want to know. We the people - have spoken.

Welcome to the discussion group, hiflier. However, this is perhaps a more scientific website than you expect. You may find a more receptive audience at the many woo woo sites that cater to credulous individuals.

In any event, do not ring the dinner bell for ET. Native Americans made that mistake when they waved for Columbus to land. Nevertheless, I do not believe that any ET has ever come near Earth.

In fact, I highly doubt there are other technological civilizations in the galaxy. Obviously, some other folks believe (hope, wish) there are. If they want to spend their own money on a fairly scientific research program, so be it. Admittedly, I do benefit from learning about their negative results. On the remote chance that they are right, I would certainly learn something. Our collective resources could probably be invested more wisely, but that could be said about a great many things in a free society.

Millions of astronomers, professional and amateur, are the ones who could possibly detect ETI, not governments. We seek the truth, we do not hide it. No worldwide or individual government could stop us, nor has reason to. We have never seen ETI, despite all of the imaginings and misinterpretations by non-astronomers.

More than half a century ago when I was eleven I attended a planetarium lecture on the origin, age and future of the universe. At the bus stop going home I got to thinking that even if I lived to be a hundred, the chance of the current moment in the history of the universe also being a moment in my life was pitifully small. While the odds of my being alive at that moment were weak, nevertheless I knew I could only consider the problem during my lifetime. Despite SETI proponents promoting a rather dubious Drake Equation, logic trumps imagined probability. Matter and energy may have had to jump through countless high and tiny hoops to produce mankind. But despite the odds, they obviously succeeded at least once. Although that it no way proves it happened twice or was even likely to have occurred elsewhere. There may be a zillion planets out there, but that does not imply that technological civilizations “must have” evolved on some of them.

Simply to assemble primordial molecules into the simplest DNA or RNA chain capable of reproducing is stupendously unlikely, although it had to happen once. Another planet crashing into early Earth was hugely unlikely, but it was necessary to produce the Moon which stabilizes the Earth’s rotation and produces significant ocean tides. These were necessary for complex life to develop and move to land. It’s highly unusual for a planetary system to include a Jupiter size planet in a low eccentricity orbit and much further from the central star than an earthlike planet, but it’s needed to eat up most rogue comets and asteroids that could destroy life. Every step leading to the quite recent development of humankind was beyond reasonable expectations. But it happened once despite the odds, and if only once then obviously Earth is the only place in which we could be having this discussion.

We are a result of a process of biological evolution. Genes protect their own kind and destroy those that directly threaten them or compete for resources. The fittest survive. Our own species has engaged in war and genocide right up to the modern era, not to mention what we do to other species. We likely disposed of the Neanderthals and other hominids. Yet we are more closely related to a blade of grass, than to any extraterrestrial, no matter how intelligent it might be.

I would be concerned about the designs of a race of technological extraterrestrials that became aware of our existence. It may be unfortunate, but those who assume (hope, wish) that evolution will eventually lead to harmony and brotherhood among all intelligent creatures are probably kidding themselves. Evolution has no “ultimate purpose”, no goal. Survival is what matters, and its means may not be what some Pollyanna thinks it should be. Yet I submit that it is often Pollyanna who is searching for extraterrestrial intelligence. Polly is relatively harmless as long as she only attempts to receive signals and not send them.

To some the notion that intelligent extraterrestrials would come to guide us, gives them almost religious comfort even if they have abandoned traditional religions. Yet this is a motivation for many SETI people. But would we really want to become like Eloi and have no need to think or provide for ourselves? Would we prefer to have learned the laws of mechanics from ET rather than Galileo and Newton? If ET really came "to serve man”, would we actually be better off? Would life be worth living?

The universe has existed for 13.7 billion years. One percent of one percent of that is 1.37 million years. It’s been estimated that the first technological species in our galaxy would completely colonize it within that period of time. I suspect it is rather unlikely that two intelligent species reached our technological level together in the galaxy within a time span less than that. We are probably either well ahead of whichever species (if any) is in second place, or well behind any other that might be in first place. And if there are tens of thousands of such species in our galaxy, as some SETI promoters suggest, at least one of them at one time in its history could easily have had a leader who led a campaign of galactic cleansing. It only had to be done once for our species to be exterminated. I submit that if any species became technological before us, they would have wiped out our ancestors as vermin long ago, and we would not be holding this discussion.

So I would be worried and not pleased if SETI were successful in finding ETI. Yet since our ancestors were not destroyed by extraterrestrials long ago, that sets asides my fears and leads me to the happy conclusion that technological ETs never have existed in our galaxy. I suspect it will be our own descendants who colonize the galaxy. If there are to be any star wars, they will be among our progeny.

Hello Centaur,

Thank You for an eloquent and, more importantly, coherent post. For your kind effort I owe you a little clarity. I for one have never seen an UFO nor do I know anyone who has. I spent three years on NASA's "Astronomy Picture of the Day" which I'm sure you are familiar with. Chris Peterson of the Cloudbait Observatory was very instrumental in my education and understanding of the various processes occurring within our Universe and I owe him much for his patience.

My interest in the ET phenom per se is almost non existent with the exception of my pursuit of the enigma of the Black Triangles which I feel are plagued with an inordinate amount of disinformation. Whether or not ET exists is certainly not for me to say but if a byproduct of this attempt at contact causes the facts (military) behind the Black Triangles to spill out then I will be happy.

I no more have my head in the clouds than you do and am actually going about this rather logically. I joined a Forum for scientific reasons and nothing has changed in my approach. There is an argument about that speaks to the slight nervousness some are feeling because of SETI. Some say that until our technology is further along we should not be broadcasting OUR existence. Quite frankly I don't know how much technology would be sufficient in their estimation since there is no reference point.

In closing when a member of my Forum came up with the idea of pressing the question of ET to a world level I thought why not. After all, Project Bluebook was closed after conclusions were reached. 1) UFOs were not extraterrestrial and 2) they posed no threat to national security.

Two statements, in my mind at least, that were curious in the regard that it was not stated that they did not exist. So my conclusion therefore was they must be terrestrial and belong to us. Enter the Black Triangles. A lot of reports speak of ET type maneuvers (90 degree turns, unbelievable acceleration etc.) but I see those reports as something perhaps to muddy the waters. There is no conspiracy of course because the reasons for the cloak and dagger would be obvious IF they exist. But needless to say in light of it all my curiosity has been piqued.

This notice for July 20, 2011. could serve my purposes (or not) and that about sums it up. Again, I Thank You for taking the time with me.

Hello All,

The 7/20/2011 date, at 5:20am GMT, for inviting ET to show themselves is now only 60 days out.

The whole event might only last one minute. Will it be worth it? As no one can anticipate what, if anything, will occur only time will tell. Is it free? Absolutely! Even if there were to be donations there would be no place to send 'em. In fact this Event is sponsored by NO ONE. If anyone asks for money tell them to take a hike!

This idea is not new. BUT to do on such a World-wide level is. It's for anyone who wants to join in. Do if you wish, or not; because it's entirely up to you. Could be even non-believers will be watching the skies.

There will be the last reminder next month on June 20th, a heads-up a day or two before the Event, and then it will be over. Who knows how things will turn out. Good food for thought and there's plenty of time left from now 'til then to get the word out if you wish to. See you in June.

This is the June 20th, 2011 reminder for the "Say Hello to ET" project that began 4 months ago. There are now 30 days left before the Event. If you haven't already read and understand the Announcement at the beginning of this thread now would be a good time to do so- maybe even a couple of times. It will answer any preliminary question and the rest will be addressed as well.

The timing for this project is scheduled for 5:20 am GMT on 7/20. Time zone issues and confusion can be eliminated by using this or a similar GMT website:

In that way one can be assured of timing any involvement with the rest of the World's participants. This exercise is meant to be brief but can last as long as anyone who chooses to be involved wants it to. In an ideal setting the entire endeavor will last about a minute. So for all intents and purposes it can in fact be over at 5:21 am GMT. It's up to the individual.

There is no website and no group to check in with which means if anyone does this it will be unknown to anyone else. It costs nothing and amounts to a one minute mental invitation for ET if ET exists to show themselves. Whether anything occurs is anybody's guess but it will be an important large scale maneuver to see if a worldwide effort at Telepathy will have results.

It is at least a step in the process of elimination WRT avenues private citizens can do for themselves on a global level to try and arrive at Truth. Inviting ET is a simple and easy thing to do anywhere while doing anything and the ONLY structured element is the precision involving the time frame.

Do as you wish, or not; it entirely up to the individual to elect either course. There will be a short note issued on or around 7/18/2011 which hopefully will give everyone who wants to do this a last call so to speak. This is it! A once-in-a-lifetime moment for a lot of folks including me.

In a very short time the Event designed to allow the UFO Community to join together Worldwide and, as one people- in the same instant- extend the invitation to ET to present themselves will be here.

If you have read the Notice at the beginning of this thread then you will understand that this is not a prediction by any definition. It is an "asking" based on the belief that, should ET exist, then (according to many reports) mental telepathy is the principal method ET uses when communicating with Humans.

Call up the above website to see how many hours are left until the start of the project according to Greenwich Mean Time. Transfer that amount to your own clock to see what time it will actually be in your Time Zone. Or just use the GMT website's clock instead then there will be no doubt in the timing for anyone who wishes to join in.

This will mark the end of a 5-month-long lead in to the effort to create a Global format which allows the believing public and others to collectively give ET permission to present themselves. Along the way there have been reminders issued and in many discussion threads everything from excitement to warnings have been voiced. There are many that think this would be providing an opportunity for ET to inflict World harm, even though history has shown that this appears to not be the case.

Nonetheless, there exists apprehension within the UFO community; and for some it is quite apparent, especially among those claiming abduction experiences. It is therefore one of the stronger reasons to raise public awareness and, if ET exists and shows up, may result in the fact that safety for anyone at risk in the future lies in World knowledge of any ET reality.

In fact, the very existence of ET at all is part (if not all) of the reason for this Effort. For those that say ET certainly DOES exist, the inevitability of Contact should be reason enough not to put off a meeting now that may happen sometime in our future anyway. So logically one could argue that delaying the inevitable makes little sense.

Depending on the outcome of 7/20 one of two avenues of discussion will remain: 1) If They show up then the "Why are they here" question can be asked. And 2) If they don't show up: then either they don't exist, OR, the question of why they didn't show can be asked. Of course that answer would still be in the area of speculation, but all dialogue will end up being refined toward a subsequently narrower road of thought- assuming that to be what everyone participating would like to achieve through this exercise. Either way it turns out one could view it as a success!

Once again, this exercise is voluntary and anyone may take part or not take part for one's own reasons. It is a very personal and private matter for each person involving an important decision in the quest for Truth. Much can be learned regarding the pursuit of an answer to the ET question. This may only be the start of gaining ground on the issue after so many years of mystery. At the individual level there is little else to do perhaps but to join the Community as a whole and give it a try.

Hello All,

ET did not show up. This was not a big surprise to most of us. Across the Forums, other than an occasional meteor and a couple of isolated unknowns, the skies were quiet and, other than celestial bodies, virtually empty. But this first step had an extremely important message attached which has been stated many times. That being the fact that a believer, any believer, will begin to realize many things personally, and collectively, as a result of this exercise.

I'm figuring first off that the "Why Are They Here?" question is out for the time being. So does this mean that ET's no-show means nonexistence?
That could be a close call for some believers IMHO. Why ET didn't show I feel should take center stage for the time being. There will be conjecture of course but the subject would be indicative of getting the dialogue pared down into a size that one can get their mind around.

Focusing on why Aliens did not display themselves as opposed to they don't exist should garner the best minds in the genre to dig deeper because of the new slant on this enigma. Different doors may open and there may even be room for science. The important thing is to keep going and not let up. Most of you know by now that gathering like minds together to take action is something that has already be done and is part of your UFO history now. It's something to build on not to rest on.

1) The invasion, enslavement, destruction, and many more of the concerns and fears of ET within the UFO community did NOT happen. And "Be careful what you wish for" no longer applies. It never did apply actually but did serve as a barometer in registering how high the level of fear was for some of the community. A phrase like that can also generate fear where there once was none.

2) Anyone who was fearful WRT ET before the Event can now rest in the fact that an unknown, while eliciting a natural apprehension, need not stall anyone's efforts in pursuing a goal. Projecting a future outcome without facts is normal but to have a "what if" rule one's life and decisions in making progress, based on imagination driven by fear, makes little sense and left unchecked can freeze an individual into doing nothing. The Forum memberships demonstrate this rather obviously.

It cannot be allowed to control a strive for Truth and the manipulation of that fear by others should never be tolerated and, in fact, such ancient and archaic practices should be rooted out and exposed in order that a community can free itself to get active in order to acquire good solid knowledge to use for future endeavors.

3) Taking action as an individual WORKS and don't ever allow anyone to tell you different! If someone shows up that has a sensible, and most importantly logical and harmless, approach in pursuit of a truth most are aligned with then at least hear the idea out before criticism. I hope my efforts have helped in this area.

4) Victory over fear to me would be the ultimate goal in this project and is a good healthy, basic reason to continue to in getting the real ET or no ET answer. It's OK to refuse to take "no" for an answer. From ANY SOURCE. Be persistent and have a good logical, down-to-Earth argument as to why someone should provide that answer.

To address whether or not 7/20 was a success? I say from the courage I noted across the Forums, and the last minute responses even from members I had never seen during the previous five months, as well as the many,many familiar ones, that this project, for what it was, was a tremendous sucess. No ET but a LOT of Humans joining and being interested and actually getting involved and actively participating at all hours of the day and night! How amazing is that? And from Forums no less- who knew? YOU do now and I will say what I've always thought from the beginning....The day was huge!

I cannot express in words what all of you have meant to this undertaking and to me. My tin hat is off to all of you and occasionally I will be stopping in with a post now and then. In the meantime you people have the ball and, from what I've truly seen, the will, and now the mechanism, to accomplish great things in arriving at the Truth of this strange and long-lasting mystery. I'll be around for the remainder of this week to take any medicine anyone wishes to dish out and then take a respite from a constant nearly half-year project that is now over.

I respectfully and sincerely give all of you the best in any future endeavors and may your answers come to you quickly and with undeniability!

I was observing the Moon around the time in question, just to see if the ETs were leaving their Moonbase, but saw no evidence of it. I also thought, being the 42nd anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing, they might see fit to visit the Sea of Tranquility site, but again, I saw no evidence, and was extremely disappointed. It should be noted, however, that I was only using a 6" telescope, pushing it to it's very limit, in lousy viewing conditions before being totally clouded out. Maybe we'll smoke 'em out next time...

I don't see any issues with the "Say Hello to ET" project. The subject ET has been reduced to two approaches:

1) ET does not exist. In which everyone can quit and go home! And

2) If ET does exist then WHY did they not show up?.

If one is a believer in ET then the only debate left is "WHY the no-show".

Onlychild's idea did exactly what it was supposed to do. And knowing this would be the outcome was why I, even as a non-believer, saw the logical benefit of the project to the ET-believing community. I mean, if ET exists and DID show then a whole separate dynamic and set of questions would come into play which are now useless. So if you believe in ET you now have one (and only one!) question left: Why the no-show?

If anyone has done any serious research into the subject of ET this will put a spin on your information that one did not have before. This is why I consider the project a success. The result is the simplification of the enigma. Non existence vs. a reason for not showing. All other subjects and discussions no longer apply. If anyone truly gives this some honest thought then this conclusion will be obvious and the value of "onlychild's" project will be realized.

Consider this to be my last and final contribution to the "Say Hello to ET" project.

Life in the Universe may not be telepathic, and likely isn't, since we are not.

Telepathic life in the Universe, may be too far away to respond, which, if it exists, is likely true.

Saying either they did show up or they didn't answers and asks nothing. The same faux question could be asked of any hour/day/year/epoch. As you have structured the false question, thinking happy alien thoughts does not answer or affect the non-dilemma posed by the non-question, from which nothing was answered, or even raised, aside from would I spend another minute of my life even thinking it?

If you believe in ESP, for which no proof exists, I suggest starting from a practical, terrestrial spot & take James Randi up on his standing $10,000 offer to anyone who can demonstrate ESP. Then send the money to SETI or SAC.

I look at everything with an open mind. At one point in time our science told that the earth was flat, it told us that the earth was the center of the universe, it told us a great many things that we now know to be otherwise.

Only time and technological advancement will prove if there is other life in our universe. To sit here in arrogance, like our ancestors, only proves to me that we truly have not come very far. Being closed minded and relying on our current science does not prove life only exists on earth. It simply shows what we currently know at our point in history.

Until science can tell me with 100% accuracy that life can not exist side by side in our universe I will keep an open mind.
