I was just wondering if anybody caught the Aurora Borealis last night. I saw nothing in either Valpo or the Ogden Dunes lake front. From the orange haze I saw over Chicago, I doubt anybody there saw anything, but maybe a member from out of the region?

There was supposed to be aurora last night? How'd I miss hearing about that? I was certainly a clearer night last night than was forecast or expected. that's for sure. But I didn't know to look for the northern lights. Darn. Any forecasts for more AB in the upcoming nights?

I'll be quoted in tomorrow's Sun-Times on this event and will attempt to view them from Chicago Astronomer Research site #1...either Thursday or Friday evening.

Some have observed aurorae from Chicago when the CMEs are exceptionally strong...like this one is.

So, there's supposedly a second, bigger CME that could hit Earth sometime today. That's pretty cool. At least I know about it this time. Now if only Mother Nature could clear her ugly arse out of the region so we could try to see this event tonight!

I have to work tonight, but if there's any chance for Friday, I'm in. Hillary's dad asked me about it Tuesday night, I guess it was all over the news, but that was the first I'd heard. I thought I was the last one Facebook to know.
