I think this is a sea or an ocean with its beach (if we neglect some colors):

See "the homogenous flat level of the sea surface" in lower part of the picture;

The border, where the water comes in contact with the cliff of the land, appears "whitish" as the waves smite the land like what happens on Earth.

The land in the upper part of the picture appears green with some plant appearance. There may be other details of the land appearance, but not obviously clear.

This indeed is a fascinating picture; if we enlarge this picture as much as we can before it becomes obscure, then with a magnifying lens; it may be that we see:

At least two water falls in the middle causing turbulence of water in the sea below; with an acute ridge inbetween the two water falls.

The one to the right is a river (of sweet water); because it gives different coloration (may be turbid with mud) before it mixes with the water of the sea.

At the high flat land above, we may see some forests of high trees near the ridge.
This region may include some cities and buildings with flat roofs.

If we go to the road situated between the green region and the yellow region, there we see it may be a sort of a cart with dust behind it.

I think the reality will be more surprising than the imagination. And there are people, in addition to animals, plant and rivers and seas on Mars.

This is undoubtedly "a man-made structure", and it is not a naturally occurring object.

It is something discarded by Phoenix; and this is from the Phoenix team:

"You are right, it is man made: It is the backshell of the spacecraft, which was ejected from Phoenix during the descent along with the parachute. It is lying due south of the lander. You can compare this to an image taken from the MRO orbiter which shows the lander and the backshell on the surface: hirise.lpl.arizona.edu/phoenix.php"
