Ever since I got the LX200R, I've been thinking about selling my AR6 ota, and the AT80, and finding a scope in between the two. Something that would give me wide-field views, and be a little bit bigger in aperture than the AT80. I came across a nice Orion 100mm refractor in the Cloudy Nights Classifieds, and couldn't pass it up. It's a nice scope, and looks perfect on top of the LX200R.
I also wanted to make taking the LX200R outside a lot easier, so I got a JMI Wheeley Bar for it. It's not that the scope is heavy or anything, in fact, I can hold the fork/ota assembly out away from my body with no problem. It's just that when you're outside for a couple of hours, it's a drag having to disassemble everything and put it away. The wheeley bar is sweet. I can just unlock the wheels and push it outside. Then when I'm done, I can just push it back into the garage. Now that's what I call "Grab-and-Go"!!!
The only drawback is in the winter my wife will want to park in the garage, so I lose out on the easy viewing. But, that's no loss, since when we're at her mom's, I can use the wheeley bar out there, and wheel it in and out of their garage.
