Storming Observatory
Last night, Jens Hackmann went outside with the intention of photographing star trails over the Weikersheim Observatory in Germany. He had just pointed his camera north and opened the shutter when "this thunderstorm intervened," says Hackmann:

I think that this is such a great looking shot. It has star trails, a handsome observatory - which is illuminated by Moonlight and a fierce thunderhead.
The smaller observatory doesn't have a 360 degree view of the horizon and is blocked by the bigger scope.
Problem tho...
The photographer states he made a five minute exposure, which explains the trails and Moon glow...but the distant cloud is in perfect focus...no blur of movement. And considering it's a growing anvil thundercloud, there would be plenty of movement going on. And as the Moon illuminated the observatory, so should the left side of the anvil head.
A bit of a deception perhaps...or omitted details?...
Eitherway, it's a pretty shot...
