I was out looking at Jupiter a few minutes ago. However I can't keep my scope still enough to see Europa's shadow. (According to Starry Night at about 9:40 CST)


Anyone else viewing Jupiter tonight? If possible could some of you guys with camera equipped rigs take a picture for me?

Since Jupiter is nearing opposition, the shadow should appear very slightly to the west-southwest of Europa (using the ecliptical coordinate system). At this moment, both of them should appear against the northwest quadrant of Jupiter, i.e. upper right when no optical inversion is involved.
