Hi Guys,

During the last Triton Star Party a friend of ours came over to ask us if the camera was working for the Scope. We told him we were going to work on it in the morning. Well when he called the following Monday we told him we had gotten it fixed.

Well to make a long story short, He asked us if we could do a Star Party for the Handicaped Camp he goes to every year. During other conv with him in reguards to the camp he told me that The Easter Seals Foundation was putting on this camp and wondered if he knew anyone who could bring a Scope to show the campers the Wonderful Universe. We had set up our Scope last year to do the live feed for the Handicap. This way they didnt have to fall off a ladder or trip over some wires. So the week of the 19th we are going down for the night to this camp to show the Universe to the everone who will be there. We will be taping what we see so maybe once the tape is put into the puter and the pics are made I will post some of them and let you know how it all went.

When we were asked I felt honored to be asked to go. We will be near Bloomington, Ill. I will let you know all about it when we return.

That is an excellent activity you have been asked to coordinate. I will certainly request that you send the details and pics this way for posting. With the big 10" cannon of yours, you will certainly provide memorable views for all. What a cool thing to do.

And the camera feed keeps your scope safe from "accidents".

Some may feel hesitant to mention certain recognitions or awards. Please don't feel as if others will think that you are boasting, bragging or flashing credentials to the rest of us. I feel that accomplishments and service activities are a great way of promoting amateur astronomy. So I respectfully request that you inform this forum on your accomplishments and activities. It would be my honor to highlight them.

I have had only TWO who have found the notices in this forum braggadocios and self promoting, and who found the need to downplay them. The status updates that I send out were misinterpreted - and their insecurities and envy of others were clearly displayed. Quite childish and not appreciated. There are other forums where snobbery rules.

So, do please send them in and lets all celebrate together.

There is a special place in clear sky heaven for generous astronomers.

I will def send along to you all the details and pics that we get off the tapes when they are done.

I only hope that they will go away happy and thrilled that we were able to show them something that we take for grantd each and every time we take our scopes out.
