Been pretty busy lately adjusting to my new DAY shift

I have been able to get out a couple evenings though. It took me two sessions to find comet Machholz, what a trip. Still not able to say I have seen the tail definitely, still just a maybe. I wish I had a lower power EP. (never thought I would say that ) Looked at M42, the dark lane was perfectly obvious to me now that I have trained my eye to see it.
Saturn, ah saturn, what a glorious sight to behold. I could see the cassini division, some faint banding on the planet and the shadow cast upon the rings.
M44, the beehive. This is the first time I have seen this wonderfull old cluster in my telescope. It took a while being out in the middle of nowhere, but I got it now. I did a sketch at 60x in my 5" and compared it to a sketch I did with 15-70 binoculars. They are pretty much the same with a few more faint stars in the scope. Probably are more I could see in the scope but I did'nt take the time to study.
Now some daytime astronomy
On saturday 2-5-05 about 3 pm ish I saw a sundog that started at 11:00 and went all the way around to 5:00, what a whopper. Lastly on friday and saturday I was able to spot the thin crecent moon at 10:00 AM.
