Where are all these species of Star Trek Located?
While researching a story, I came across these maps from different sites, and never bothered before to look up the neighborhoods of the friends and foes of the Federation of Planets. The series action located entirely within the Milky Way, and not entirely explored either.

It's interesting that although fiction, it's based on what the perception is of the Milky Way galaxy. Here, one can let the imagination run wild, and incorporate the "what ifs". From these minds come the reality of tomorrow.
This sites author goes into intricate details, involving formulas and other mathematical explanations on how warp speed works and the boundaries physical travel deals with.
