Earlier this week at the public meeting of the Peoria Astronomical Society I received a promotion within the club.
In Sept. I was elected to the PAS board of directors as nominating chairman.
Last night I became an officer on the board of directors.
I am now the PAS secretary.
I just hope I can stop there.
I'm getting hungry for power.
I like the sound of "Emperor."

I haven't been around here in the forum for some time because of the elections.
I'm a newspaper reporter so covering them took quite a bit of time. But, I'll be here more now that things have been decided.

Peoria Astronomer DeWayne has been seen recently strutting along the streets of downtown Peoria, walking along center sidewalk, forcing other pedestrians to avoid his imposing presence by hugging the buildings or stepping off into the street. Yelling out "Peons!!" he queries strangers on calculating eyepiece power and magnitudes of obscure variable stars. Local town folk say that women want to be with him, men want to be like him, and the name tag that he wears on his worn corduroy jacket that has imprinted "Emperor", helps with abrupt introductions with out-of-towners.

Witnesses have come forth reporting that he also twirls an observatory key on a long lanyard, often tangling it in womens hair. Upon extracting the key, he is often heard to say "I'm an astronomer...you know". The local coffee shop offers free cups of coffee as a tribute.

Wow. People here in the board are getting promotions, upgrades, new projects, new positions of power, and even publicity via FOX news.
