The Christmas Gathering of the the Adler crew - 13 December 2005
I arrived at the Adler bash just a bit late after my long day and picking up my girlfriend. I came upon the Telescope Operator table and followed directions on where to get the eats, drinks and other goodies.
The special drink of the night was called an "Orbit". I really don't know what was all in it, but it was blue and had pomegranate seeds. Quite yummy. Linda Saucedo was very helpful in my orientation and offered me her booze ticket... ;D
Here Jude and Linda amidst discussions.
Always great to meet up with friends at the Adler and John was sharing the news of my absence at yesterdays Cosmology Lecture, (which I understand was quite a good presentation.) I had a balljoint on the Chevelle that was on the way out, and it was important to address to situation...and ergo, a missed lecture. So as I joined the group, I was asked..."How my balljoint was".
Here John and Jeff on way to more Adler fun.
The dinner was quite good and the dessert table quite stocked with a great many varieties of sweets. And of course, more Orbits.
Here Debra Pearl and I pose just before her departure.
I was a winner of the raffle this evening. I won a Barrington Deluxe Fraser Fir Christmas tree. Cool!... ;D I didn't hear my name called out, as I was eating, drinking and talking, and we were out of sight of the main action and activities. My fellow telescope operators with keen super-hearing notified me of my win. I think that all the time behind the eyepiece enhanced their other senses. Thanks all.

And of course, every Adler activity needs a group shot, and here it is:
From left to right: John, Vladi, Jude, Steve, Liz & Myself, Alfred & Linda and Jeff.
We had loose plans to continue the party at a local watering hole, but I needed to accomplish an errand first, and by the time I finished...was quite tired and called it a night.
And so concludes the 2005 Adler bash.
;D
