Hi Guys,
I want to thank all of you that answered my rant and rave about the BS that I went through at a star party. I do have some good news I want to share with you all.
On 20 Oct I had a CLASS presentation to do at a middle school for 163 kids. I was nervous for the first 5 min then went on and had a good time. The presentation went very well. Out of the all the kids I reached about 150 of those kids and at the end I got a standing ovation. Was told by the teacher that was the first time any of her speakers got one. On Thurs night thay had the scopes out for the second half of the presentation and the kids remebered who I was and thanked me for showing them a side of Astronomy they hadnt really seen before and wanted to know more about the pins I had on, IE: how could they get them. I knew when I emailed the gentelman who started CLASS and told him about the event I would get encourment from him to keep going. He will also back me in hopes of getting the NSN kits once I leave NSA as he is in Texas and I am here. So as my days with NSA are numbered I know I can still go out there and reach these kids and do what I want in Astronomy and feel good about it, and even show females that we (females) can get involved in Astronomy and make a difference. I was asked to do three more classes in the next month or so at the same school for a total of about 300 more students. I cant wait. It was nice to know that my love for Astronomy is not dead nor will it fade out in the near future. I have to many kids here to reach and to teach them all about Astronomy.
So as I contunie to work on my research and help kids get involved in Astronomy my cannon will go out and hunt for the NEO's and all the rest of the wonderful DSO's I shall not quit nor give up. If certin men dont want us women here well thats just to **** bad cause I an Not going anywhere. I am here to stay.
