Down with Murphy and his law. Something just HAD to go wrong. As it turns out there is Graph Expo and Chicago Marathon this weekend. This combination has made all the rental cars disappear and I can't find any. Now I am just hoping I walk in and someone cancels at the last minute.

Look at that....5 pages of plotting and planning and all went well.

After going to school Sunday only to have my teacher tell me that the reason I am not learning is not his fault its mine, I really wish I stayed past Saturn (just before 3am) but if I didn't attend I would have lost too many points. I hate computer networking, and that is not my major, only the focus in my technology requirements. So I am kind of stuck in it and have no idea how to pass this last class for graduation. Ridiculous.

Smelling the fire and just being in that much darkness for so long reminded me of my old camping days. I wanna do it again. If we get a next party going, even in winter, I now have a better idea of what I want to bring. Had I brought more blankets I would have spent more time lying on the ground staring at the sky for a while, maybe even taking a few quick naps.

But the big thing will be me staying the whole night. That stupid class and my half-ass presentation did not do any justice to missing out on that cresent that rose just after I left (I could see it by the time I hit the highway...probably just barely cracking past the trees by the party). But still, I am glad I made it to this one. T'was excellent in all respects.

The whole event was too cool, wasn't it?

I couldn't have wished for more of a complete night of star gazing, as the weather was near perfect and the company better.

Brian, they gotta know what you require to pass that damned class. If the teacher doesn't know, then you must go over his/her head and find out. It's not fair to you and the other classmates, and not good for the school. I have this bug about incompetency in the schools. Either teach well, or get out of the way so that others can.

Perhaps a meeting with the "chancellor"? or "Dean"?, or what ever title the head honcho goes by.

If I can assist, let me know.

I had intended to take a great many pictures of the Star party event, but it just wasn't to be. And I didn't want to ruin everybody's night vision with flash photography.

But I did manage to get two shots.

This one is a very nice image of the Chicago Astronomer Campfire tunes...Courtesy of Brian and Jay...with Nancy looking on. What a great musical element for the event. Thanks again to Brian and pal Jay for their talented performance.

This next one is of Keith and his prized 90mm refractor. Views thru his scope are quite good and crisp. I recommend that Keith bring out his scope more often...and especially for the upcoming lunar eclipse.

So, fellow Chicago Astronomers, please indulge me when I come around...camera in hand and commence to capture our activities for posterity.

Your grandkids will love them.
