Although the early morning was warm and humid, I set up the C11 for some quick Jupiter shots with the 2 Inch Eyepieces and evaluate how they compare to the 1.25mm ones.

I must say that I am impressed.

All these images were taken with my trusty Canon Powershot S3, but now with the introduction of the 2" eyepieces, I have no way to attach the camera to the scope. Until I can adapt it, I took some handheld exposures with just the 40mm 2 "...



Not bad.

I also did not install the Extended Dew Shield, (EDS), on the tube and dealt with much alley glare from the street lamps....ergo the contrast is not as good as it could be. I also had to keep the ISO rather high to keep the exposures shorter. ( I could see my heartbeat slightly move the camera with each beat.)

The inside of the eyepiece and the inside diameter of the camera adapter seem to be of the same measurements. During the day, let's see what I got knocking around in the accessory cabinet to mate them...

I dig the imaging characteristics of these new 2" eyepieces and the pics will only get better...
