I found this on the "spacepeople" yahoo group in my mailbox this morning. The author says things that I happen to agree with, although writing a note to NASA and thinking it would be considered is a little optimistic.
Subject: Re: Will Shuttle Discovery's Launch Restore Confidence?
I wrote to Nasa several times begging them not to launch in winter
again, since it adds a noticable strain on men and materials.I also
asked them to be very alert to the ceramic tiles glue /adhesive
problems with regard to "sudden impacts" and the severe
temperature fluctuations of space.Allow for cameras outside the
shuttle to warn of tile damage and allow for spacewalks to do
maintenance. That was within a few weeks of "after -the
-fact" analysis when the Columbia blew apart during Earth's
re-entry stress and superheating of materials.
I believe to this day
that the astronauts had been told that the conditions were grim while
they were orbiting Earth. There should have been contingency plans.I
heard it in the Isreali's voice how he was resigned to his
fate, during a chat with American press, while he said words to his
father on Earth.I immediately felt badly for him and the others of
the crew ,because I strongly suspected that something was very wrong
and they knew it but couldn't say it.
What we really need are
Alien technologies to fix the problems. Our ships are dinosaurs
compared to theirs. If there were not all the cover-ups and secrecy
about ET's then we'd be so much more advanced in safer
space-flight.Aren't scientists committed to letting the whole truth
be known? In a few years there will be more disclosure about ET's that
will erase our history books, our religious beliefs and other
misconceptions taught to us from a very young age. For now we need the shuttles, but really, let's devise a better system. Jerry Lehane III j.lehane@verizon.net
NASA needs reorganization starting with O'Keefe down. Get Krantz out of retirement!
