How was the star party that I wasn't invited to? I would have been happy to take Sarwat to the star party but I was the only member discriminated against and not invited probably because I'm curmudgeoned. I got a message from Al on my first post asking for my e-mail address, sent it and no messages since. That's OK everyone. I have known for a long time that the only importance I have is for my dead body to fertilize feed corn to provide those who matter with steak and if I didn't exist other people would have more money and food and gas and less garbage. That's the honest measure of my worth, so most people tell me.

I forgot to mention that I e-mailed Joe privately several times over the last two months about how to get to the star party with no response including a "can't answer" on "All Experts".com. Any message that didn't have to do with the star party was answered so apperantly God, I mean Mayor Daley, I mean Joe didn't want me to attend. Let's interrogate our moderator. Are you sorry that I can now post messages on this board? Will you play guestapo and violate my first ammendment rights to free speech by deleting this? You owe me, as well as all members of this board an explanation.

I'm sorry your feels have been hurt. Since the gathering was organized by me on my site, I reserved the right to determine the attendies. When dealing with online acquaintances it's impossible to really know anyone. I attempted to gauge people by their attitudes in their posts online. Unfortunately, I must say I was uncomfortable with how you react to some things (just see your post here for an example) and thus didn't want to take a chance that someone or something get put you in a sour mood. Again, I'm sorry that you feel slighted.

As Founder and Administrator of the Chicago Astronomer Forum, it is my sole discretion on the content and activities of the site. This includes Chicago Astronomer organized Star Parties. I don't reward bad behavior.

Participation in our events is not required, mandatory nor automatic, but most desired in a great celebration of the love of Astronomy. Sharing an observational session with fellow astronomers is a great way to experience the night sky.

When an individual "demands" to participate, threatens to "report" me, and then augments the attempted threat by this latest example, then one forfeits the privileges of a Chicago Astronomer member:

Before I couldn't post. Now I can post and the messages were deleted so it's the same as when I couldn't post. You don't want anyone to know that you didn't want me there. Hopefully someone read those messages before they were deleted.

The star party is open to all your members, so you say. I am a member and your failure to provide me with the information means YOU don't want me there. For one thing it's not being held on your property so it's not entirely your decision and for another thing in a democratic society we vote rather than discriminate. Oh. I forgot, you used to work for the city and use Daley politics. Yet you pose with me for a picture at the Cernan Center. This must be why the newsletters have stopped coming. Go ahead and play God but remember to judge not lest you be judged. Let he who is without sin cast the first sone. I shouldn't have taught you color theory. I upped your IQ.

A simple question. And you call youself an astronomer. Can't take the teasing? Chicken nuts.

You are tredding on my turf and notice that I can post here in a much more complex and sofisticated (sp) system than your forum because this site uses traditional HTML, unlike your discriminatory forum. Beauty killed the beast. You must be new to this forum. Give me details on your star party and if you don't answer promptly the moderator will be all over your case."

I do not delete posts regardless of content, as all opinions, suggestions and criticism are of some value. I simply move them to the appropriate board. I share this in the distant hope that you will see the folly of your mails, but I doubt it. I share all here, including the accomplishements, recognitions and honors that our members achieve...this also includes the not so nice aspects...ergo, your correspondance.

I have enjoyed your feedback over the past year via personal emails, and had a chuckle or two, but your mails of recent have taken quite a negative and insulting tone. I have kept them to myself. But I have also shared with you the Chicago Astronomer Newsletters, data and offered to assist you in your computer interaction needs during your "teasing".

Personally...the acerbic mails and attitude are of no consequence to me and quite entertaining, after all I rejoice in writing about the corruption, incompetence and ignorance in the Chicago Public School system..and I do come from a Police Department background as well...I have dealt with this caliber of offense my entire career...But I also must take into consideration the general well being of the entire membership of the Chicago Astronomer, and not allow or permit any opportunity to foster negativity within.

I too am quite sorry that your feelings, pride and desire to participate was affected by my decision. I do not enjoy being placed in such a position, but as grateful guests of our gracious host, I refused to allow any circumstance that would alter the group's experience. Your tenor left me with no other logical and responsible choice.

All members of the Chicago Astronomer are valued, and you are most welcomed to remain as one, but I won't tolerate insulting, antagonistic or threatening behavior here or in our activities.

I have spent too much time on this as of now and refuse to grant your negativity to contaminate our great night of exploration in our first ever Chicago Astronomer Star Party. But I'm not here to lecture you, as an adult, you know better.

.....what does knowing HTML have to do with anything in this forum? The forum provides all kinds of tools that take care of the details, so knowing the coding (as I do myself) doesn't really matter.

Just a thought. One of many.
