Seeing in the Dark : How Amateur Astronomers Are Discovering the Wonders of the Universe by Timothy Ferris
A great read for amateur astronomers. It contains information on observing but what I found interesting was the chapters that profiled various amateur astronomers and their accomplishments. It made me more motivated to get out there anytime I can (unfortunately clouds, family commitments, work, sleep, all get in the way).

Ooooh, this one looks good!
Too often, strories are written about the masters and their sophisticated equipment. Great, but it leaves most of us out. Here, the average amateur can get a nod from other sunlight deprived astronomers.
I do believe I will get this one. And the character on the cover is using a newt!
