Total exposure: 26 minutes - stacked and processed with Pixinsight.

Modified Canon T3i with coma corrector on Orion 8" newtonian astrograph at f/4 and Celestron AVX equatorial mount.
Autoguided with SSAG autoguider and PHD freeware.

Nice job. I notice you use Pixinsight. I am looking for people to share ideas and learn Pixinsight. I feel I have hit a wall. I have a one shot color camera. Recently I shot HA for first time on the Bubble Nebula. I have tried to follow Warrens video's and still very confused. Have you ever tried to blend HA with OSC? Would love to get together and learn.

Thanks Peety. Yes, I have played around with various combinations.


Quick tutorial:

Load the color(RGB) image.
Open CHANNEL EXTRACTION. Click on RGB then click on apply. The image will split into its 3 individual channels - red, green and blue(convert all 3
to grayscale using CONVERTTOGRAYSCALE if the split did not do so.

Now load the H alpha image and do the same. Delete the H alpha G and B channels(all noise).Keep the R - has all the H alpha data.
Convert this channel to grayscale using CONVERTTOGRAYSCALE if the split did not do so.

Use STAR ALIGNMENT to align the H alpha R channel, the R(red), G(green) and B(blue) channels. Save all 4 in a folder(I am assuming you know how to align and stack). If not, let me know-very easy!

Go to Channel Combination and click on RGB. Load the H alpha R channel where the Red Channel belongs, G channel where the Green channel belongs and the B channel where the Blue channel belongs. Click apply and there you have it!

You can also stack the H alpha R and the R(red) from the color image(more signal), and use it as your R channel for the final combination.


Play around with various combinations... GBR,BRG, RRB, etc!!!!!!

Thanks so much. Would love to meet in near future. When I run the star alignment. I get error reading of "invalid unlock operation"

My red channel HA Is reference image and under target images I have listed all 3 colors of non HA image

3 seceded and 1 failed

Never happened to me before. Were all files converted from Raw too Fit? Were all saved as floating point 64?
