A bright sunny Sunday with Chicago Astronomers Chuck & Regina leads to an impromptu Chicago Astronomer Star Party by the Adler area, with the Moon, Jupiter and Venus to share with our fans and friends.
Chicago Astronomers Chuck, Regina, Maria, Tom and myself set-up our scopes on a very gusty evening...
A lot of gear to haul for star parties...
Where's the warm weather of spring....?
Nice lunar viewing for this session...
...but it was much too windy for any planetary imaging.
Fans stopped by to share in the views and others, curious on the set-up of scopes pull over and ask what's going on...
Tom's fork mounted Meade had some mechanical issues during our last C.A. session, the primary mirror wasn't cooperating with focusing, but after working on it, he got it to work and it performed nicely this evening. (Look at that momentum of the Lanyard go...!)
C.A. Steve arrives dressed for winter temps in April.
This was a 90 minute quick session for the crew, much to windy, look at that horizontal Chicago flag...
...but it was a fun time with fellow Astronomers, working out the bugs in gear and equipment.
