Hey what's up, NatureDevil here. I figured while I am here, I would mention a few things that some people may find of interest, including two websites and one of my schools.
First, I'd like to plug me, and my band, also called NatureDevil. We are at www.NatureDevil.com and I have pictures and Mp3's of stuff.
Second is a great website at www.BadAstronomy.com which is run by this guy who has dedicated himself to trying to correct all of the bad astronomy that is out there. I have dozens of astronomy websites that I visit, but this one is probably the most interesting of them all due to its nature. Some of it is simply mistakes in the media where articles are written that have scientific errors in them. But a good chunk of it is dedicated to idiots who go out on television and on the radio with "evidence" that the lunar landing was falsified, or that NASA is hiding certain proofs about life on Mars, and things of that nature. The guy at this site really knows his stuff, and I belive that he does, or used to, have his own astronomy radio show somewhere on the west coast. I'd have to check and make sure I get that stuff right, otherwise I'd be the next one listed on his site....
...oh, and my college, Triton. I go to several colleges, but my main community college is Triton College in River Grove, just out side of the city. Triton is home to the Cernan Space Center, where they have laser light shows amd such inside the big dome, but they also host astronomy lectures and seminars once in a great while. Also, every month, they host a skywatch, where inside the giant dome they display sightings that will be visible throughout the month. Sometimes afterwards, they bring out the house telescope, as well as some individuals who bring their own (it is always at night), out on the soccer field and people can view whatever is out there that particular night for a few hours.
Much like what Astronomer Joe does for us! Although I'd love to visit Joe and other members down by the lake more often, Triton offers it on a scheduled basis, making it more easy to target and go to. I like it because not many other colleges offer this kind of stuff, and it is open to almost anyone, although I think they charge like $5 to get in to the dome. Hopefully, with the aid of this site, people (including myself) can make more of an effort to get down by the planetarium more often.
Anyway, just thought I would plug my band and mention the other points of interest I had. Cool, until next time....
