Are you shooting in Tungsten...? It helps to eliminate a lot of the LP. Or at the very least a LP filter in regular white balance settings.

I use a light pollution imaging filter from Orion Telescopes. I am still very green, lol. Someone else tweaked the pic and came up with this:
