Solar Imaging on a beautiful crystal clear winter afternoon

This day was a beautiful crystal clear day in Chicago. Not a single cloud in the sky and a great opportunity to do some solar imaging. Using the 102mm refractor and the C5 SCT and the full aperture solar filter - the solar disk proved to be a text book display...

Beautiful Sunspots #1680 through #1685 were putting a great display - especially Sunspot group #1683...

Kicking the White balance to various settings, seems to bring out various attributes - without the use of external filtering.
A very good session with great results...

The Sun is the only object in our Solar system wirth such dynamic activity, that it can change by the hour - and observable.

Solar observation should be part of every Astronomer's list.
