Solar Imaging

I have been shooting the Sun for the past few days with 1.25" eyepieces and filters - but had the chance to grab my 2" gear and do some imaging.

Using my compliment of the larger 2" white light filters, the 1.25" Nebula filters and the very versatile 2" Scopetronix MaxView II 40mm -
( astronomer.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Equipment&action=display&thread=3931 ) We attach the simple Samsung 14 Mp pocket camera and take some shots...

With just the full aperture C11 solar filter...and we go down the line with the various compliment of white light filters...

This one above, is with stacked Narrow & Broadband filters on the Zhumell 1.25" eyepiece...

I also tried to use the Binoviewers on the 102, but as feared, there is not enough "in-travel" in the focuser with the diagonal in place. To get a focused view, I needed to go straight-thru...

Quite awkward...but I did enjoy some great stereoscopic views of the solar surface. Something I had not experienced before and a wonderful experience.

Since yesterday, Sunspot group 1675 has formed, bringing the Earth facing side of the Sun to a very active state.
