Hot Wheels Sojourner Mars Rover Model
While visiting the Volo Classic Car Museum in early September 2012, I browsed the geeky model stores...and found the Sojourner Mars Rover from Hot Wheels. Now, I was aware of this release back when the Sojourner mission was successfully executed...but was not really interested in the model.
The little rover did do it's job and tested out the balloon landing technique nicely...
But the Curiosity mission has ignited my interest in the Mars Rover models. Hoping to find a Curiosity Hot Wheels model soon, I thought I would start the Mars Rover collection with the little Sojourner rover....
I know the potential future value of the models will be higher if the package is intact...but I got this not for investment, but for play.
Package busting in a bit....

Too cool! I would be very tempted to open it, as well. I don't know if I would, but it would be very tempting. And any collectors out there should be thrilled that you opened yours, as it makes ones still in the box more valuable.
