Here is the "Eyes on the Sky" video for this coming week of December 5th through December 11th:



As always, some neat things to see, and despite the shorter format, I managed to squeeze in a few fun things this week. A quick run-down:

Moon near Jupiter
Mars near M65 and M66
A lunar eclipse
How a cat could alter the orbit of Mars
I nearly take a trip with a pirate to see the lunar eclipse

Those of you that know me fairly well will not be surprised at the silly segments I managed to squeeze into this week's video. Never gets old making these; it's just difficult to add funny stuff EVERY week. I'll keep working on it. ;D

Thank you Joe - that means a LOT coming from you!

It actually helps doing this weekly, because instead of going back and thinking, "How did I do that last month?" the prior week's problems/successes are fresh in my head. I've gotten a lot of positive feedback of having "me" still present in the frame and speaking (albeit smaller).

"Cats in Space" - yeah, that one was last minute. I thought of it not long before I was going to shoot my regular footage of me, and planned on using a laser on the basketball to get the cat to go after it. But he was feeling lazy and didn't want to move, so I - ummm... "helped" him "move Mars" out of it's orbit. And besides, I can't do humor every week - it's hard to think of something new/different/still funny with everything else I do on the videos. But I figure I'll inject it when I can. ;D

The pirate clip cracked me up! I know what a light year is... classic.

Thanks Rich! If I think of short, funny stuff to do, I'll include it. The problem is, the inspiration for them doesn't always strike BEFORE I get started. Ah well - all good fun!

Pretty hilarious yesterday, actually - I had finished doing the pirate shoot, but wanted to be sure that the two clips would "mesh" well before taking off my costume and such. Well, I had added some "Jack Sparrow" type makeup to my face. So I started editing the rest of the show, and came upstairs at one point. My older daughter looks at me and says, "Dad, do you have eyeliner on?" I was like, "Yup."

And just to show you how NON-strange that is in my house? My daughter's reaction was, "Oh, I thought so."

Worst part is, when I look at the video, I don't think I put ENOUGH on....

Maybe next time you need a pirate, you should hire out. One of our members plays a good Captain Jack.

If I think of the skit soon enough! I started the script on Saturday, finished it Sunday morning, and recorded Sunday afternoon.
