Chicago Park District and Chicago Astronomer joint Star Party session

Our next Park District joint session will be Wednesday, the 17th of August, at Washington Park, (5531 S. Martin Luther King Dr).

We will set up telescopes by the field house and start the session at 8:00pm and show park goers the cosmos till 10:00pm...

I will be on-site early, about 7:00 pm to scout out the area and set-up. Interest is high for this session and should have a number of scopes and Astronomers to attend to our visitors.

It's still iff we we will conduct our Park session this evening.- considering weather conditions.

A go/no-go decision will be made late afternoon.

CANCELLED....!

The weather conditions are so soupy and iffy...that both the Park District and the Chicago Astronomer has cancelled our joint session for tonight at Washington Park and will re-schedule for next week sometime.

We were holding out for the last moment for a decision, as forecasts were stating for clearing later on..but it's so vague.

Date to be determined soon.
