Chicago Astronomer Star Party

Monday looks like a great evening out under the stars and catching the last of Saturn and some good lunar viewing. There will also be two Iridium Flares to entertain and enjoy.

Lollapalooza will be over and the area looks open and clear of any events or activities.

I will set up the C11 by the Adler area at 7:30 pm...probably by the Sundial site...look for the scopes and crowd.

And...to add to the event, old astro buddy Rob - straight from his pilot gig in Dubai - will join in with scope and laughs.

If free, stop by...you know you want to.

There is a good possibility, now with updated weather forecast, that we may be clouded out for tonight's star party.

I'll make a judgement call by 6pm, but if it looks partly cloudy, I'll still do it.

If cancelled, we will re-schedule for Wednesday or Thursday.

I won't send out emails, but check here and the twitter/facebook for updates.

SCRUBBED!

Due to unpredictable weather conditions, tonight's star party is cancelled.

I have re-scheduled the gathering for both Wednesday and Thursday of this week, (10th & 11th of August) at 7:30 pm.

Sorry kids.

It may clear up, but the forecasts call for rain.

It's ok wobbles.

We will have a great two evenings of great scope time with Saturn, the Moon and Iriduim satellites in two days....under a wonderful high pressure system and deep skies.
