Dear Chicago Astronomers....
We have survived a hiccup and back to business....
Recently, Proboards, the site that hosts this forum - started accepting ads that were animated and with sound, which were annoying at the least - but were setting off Trojan alarms. They have since ceased such practices and cool...but coincidently, the site that hosts early Chicago Astronomer images, Photobucket, deactivated those early links from 2008 on back - leaving more current ones solid. You may have noticed a lot of dead linking going on.
After days of adjustments, emails and tweaks with the host....I am proud to announce that all images from day one....are back to enjoy. A lot of Chicago Astronomer history there that was almost lost and just glad they were still on their servers.
There is still some nudging to do on the Chicago Astronomer, but most of the bloat has been removed and better streamlined. A second site is in the making, but the Chicago Astronomer Forum will remain active and the place to comment and post your own astronomical experiences, observations and data.
But....
As of today - the 26th of January 2010 - things seem to be flowing well and nearly back to normal.
Thanks for sticking around and letting me enjoy the night sky together with you.
