I just got a new camera lens delivered today, the Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM. It's a big lens, and a bit heavy, but not too bad for hand held shots. So far anyway. I don't have the chance to carry it around to use since it's raining.

Compared to the Canon 75-300mm...








The glass shot was with the UV filter on, so that's why it looks like there's smoke rolling past it. I'm hoping to get out and use it soon, since I'm dying to try it out at the local zoos and such.




Pending Departure: Anybody looking for a scope or accessories, my LX200R is on Astromart and the Shop&Swap on Cloudy Nights. It's time for a change, and I'm selling it. Just an FYI

Well, some equipment has come, some has gone. My WO 110mm Megrez and 12" LX200R are now in teh hands of someone else. I hope they get better use out of the equipment than I did.

However, I now have three new camera lenses that are getting much more use than the scopes did. Although I'll probably miss the LX200R sooner or later, I don't right now, and am having way too much fin with the camera lenses. Along with the aforementioned Bigmos (Sigma 150-500mm OS), I now have an excellent Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 DC OS, and an excellent Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens. I really love these lenses, and all thee seem to go perfect with each other. We went out to the inlaws over the weekend, and that gave me the chance to shoot some bird shots with all three lenses. I have to say that I am more than pleased with the results.

These were all shot through the kitchen window, a double-paned and slightly firsty kitchen window. Not bad at all if I do say so myself.
