I just returned from a marvelous presentation of the Cassini-Huygens mission at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. There were about a hundred people in attendance. It was conducted by JPL Solar System Ambassadors Jim Kovac and John Vittallo. Both are Motorola engineers and enthusiastic amateur astronomers trained by JPL to educate the public. It was a great show. The crowd was genuinely interested and loaded with questions.
Photos and videos of Saturn, its rings and satellites (especially Titan) were accompanied by live narration. To see John Vittallo's online version of the presentation go to: home.comcast.net/~vittallo
I see that our honcho here, Joe Guzman, is also a JPL ambassador. I wonder what he will be presenting? To learn more about the ambassador program go to www.jpl.nasa.gov/ambassador
