I've spent some time lurking around this forum and grabbing as much information as I could. Last week I decided to take the plunge and ordered a nice little 90mm f/10 refractor. A big thanks to every poster here because it looks like this scope is a perfect starter for me and the choice was made in part from information on this forum. Two hours after delivery I was checking out Jupiter, its moons, and its bands. Our moon was incredibly sharp (thx for the tip on the moon filter). Thx again. My checking account may never forgive you folks.

Thanks for your first post and joining the Chicago Astronomer family.
The 90mm is a nice tight scope and good for planetary observation with sharp contrast. You have already enjoyed first views and it only gets better. Tell us a bit more of the scope...what's the make, eyepieces etc...
Glad that we were of help in our reviews in selecting your scope.
And about that checking account...Al's right, expect more withdrawls...
