Hey all, I'm Matt. I've been in the Chicago area for about 1 year now and have finally got my apartment in some form of liveable condition (unpacked all boxes and such, its amazing how long that takes).
I have a Meade ETX-125 telescope that I got a few years ago as a graduation present, but I havent been able to use it for some time due to various things.
I live in the Buffalo Grove/Wheeling area and was hoping to find some place that I can go to skywatch that is actually legal as it appears most parks and public areas close at sundown.

Thanks for your first post and registering as a member of the Chiago Astronomer family.
That Meade needs to be dusted off and used in these early spring skies. Sometimes even if you are set up after hours in a park, the local law enforcement looks the other way if you offer views. Often I get a break by the Adler doing this. But even right outside your door, you can still target many objects despite the limited access to an open sky.
Tell us some more about your interest in astronomy.
