I witnessed an event in Valdez Alaska while working on the pipeline. Looking toward the north at about 9 pm in April I saw what looked like the moon behind clouds. That disappeared and then I saw a bright pin-point of light, then a circle of rainbow colors at the point of light, finally the moon-behind-clouds appeared. This happened about 7 or 8 times. After the third time several others were witnessing the same events.
Then we saw several streaks of light from top right to bottom left. Finally, we saw the normal Aurora Borealis.
I have asked every astronomer, and physicist I can find that will listen to this tale. No one has an idea what it was we saw. Anyone in the club have a theory?
