There is something about the genre of movies of the '50's. The message, the photgraphic techniques all build to memorable movies. Many hid anti-communist messages, but a great one of the time is "The day the Earth Stood still".

Earth was not, and still is not prepared to join the Galactic club, as Klaatu fails to convince the Earthlings the dangers of the bomb. By controlling all energy sources along with Gort's laser weapon, makes his point clear and superiority evident.

I saw this movie as a child of about 5, and still recall it vividly. It's over 50 years old and still remains fresh.

I thought this movie was good for its time. I also saw it as a young child and laughed through some of it. I had to admit it was good. Some of the acting was horrible but for a scifi movie of the 50's guess it was ok. They put alot of thought into it and tried to make it seem real.

Te one show I really liked was the radio show anbout the aliens coming down from Mars. It was late 50's. Everyone thought it was a real live broadcast of a news cast and thought the world was going to end. My mom had it and I listened to it. It was good and it sounded real.
