Grand Presentation of two new Hubble Images at the Adler...
Monday morning was the scheduled official unveiling of the two new images from the Hubble and presented as a gift from NASA on the 15th anniversay of the Hubble.
One image was of the Eagle nebula and the other was of The Whirlpool galaxy. Framed and mounted on the wall, they were unveiled in front of tv cameras and school kids. The images are quite detailed and a great addition to the collection at the Adler.
Pictured in front of the framed image are Adler Astronomers: Larry Ciupik, Mark Subbarao, Mark Hammergren & Michelle Nichols - Senior Educator, and...the Chicago Astronomer and Adler Telescope Interpreter....me!
It was nice being there for the event and coupled with the CBS Hubble piece to air later, it was a good day all around!
