Many years ago I hand ground and polished an 6" mirror blank. The Fort Worth, Texas Junior Astrnonomy Club measured the focal length and it was great. They told me to leave the outer edge of the mirror blank unpolished so that the company coating the mirror could finish it off to give a better image. Having found my "project again, I would like to get it tested and coated so that I can complete my telescope. Do any of you know of a company who will do this? I would like to finish the scope I began 50 years ago!!

The only company I know of is Clausing. They are near the Chicago area. If I can find their web site or any other info on them I will post it fr you. This is who coated my mirror. Now for someone to test your mirror I would reccommend Gomer. If you want to send me an IM with your phone number I will pass it to him and he can contact you. If Dan checks your mirror he will send it to them to coat. He only uses this co. I highly reccommend him to test it and give you an honest idea. He did my miror and is doing the next one.
