Hi,
I may not be from your city, or country for that matter, but I hope you don't mind me joining your forum.
I found this site while googling astrophotography links. It was on a website for the Canon Powershot S3, you had written a review of the camera.
I bought myself a Canon Powershot s3 late last year hoping to find a use for it with my Astronomy. ( as well as happy snaps )
It's performed brilliantly afocally with the moon and the movies I've taken of Jupiter have turned out fairly well after processing with Registax.
Recently I've started using it for wide field deep sky shots, stacking multiple images in DeepSkyStacker. I never thought that it was up to it, but I'm really happy with the results.
LOL, if I knew how to post images, I'd show you what I've done with this nifty little camera.

I would like to see you S3 astrophotos and the techniques you used. To post images here, you will have to create an on-line photo storage account. I use photobucket.com

It's free, easy and all you need to do is copy the info and paste here in your posts.

I have found the S3 rather limiting in hardcore astro imaging. It's good for wide fields, and the 12x zoom is sure great, but imaging thru the telescope is a bit tricky and since the S3's lens is so large, the eyepiece gets lost in all that glass and it take lot of effort to center, focus and track all at the same time.
