Here are some more shots. The first two were taken on April 18, at 6:38 p.m. and 6:46p.m., respectively. They were shot with my 6" newtomian reflector and a Fuji S5000 Digital SLR attached to a 25mm eyepiece. The third is from July 14, at 7:52p.m. with the same equipment.
First pic was 1/30 second exposure at F3.2, second was 1/90 at F3.2, third was 1/80 at F2.8







Just for those who want to know where to get an excellent scope cheap, I paid $150 for my 6" reflector on Ebay, and it performs awesome. It has a strong equatorial mount, but does have the tiniest bit of slack in the motion. Hasn't bugged me yet. I'm actually baffled at how good of quality it is for such a cheap price.

For less than $200, I picked up an Orion 6" reflector tube from the Adler's gift shop. It is the long tube version at f/8.
I also purchased the Scopetronix digital camera universal adapter for my 3.2MP camera.
I still find focusing the hardest part to do.
The classic 6" is a keeper for me.

I know what you mean about focusing. I figured out that the best way was to zoom the camera to it's maximum optical zoom, and then focus from there. Then when you zoom back out, the camera will still stay at that focus. My camera has a double-pressure switch that allows you to hold it down halfway to focus, then press it all the way the snap the pic. So far, I haven't been disappointed with even my worst pics.

As far as posting pics goes, you sign up for an acount with Photobucket, which is free for a small account, download your pictures to your account, and then put them in your post. I just highlight the img address and copy and paste into the post.

Excellent shots!

Your camera is much more featured than my simple one. I cannot get the tight zoomed in ones like yours without a lot of blur and they are quite dimmed.

Yes, the focusing is certainly a pain. especially on less sensitive view screens. I think that it will be a great thread on simple digital photography here or on the sister site that I am working on. Let me mull on that a bit.

Here's a shot I took last year while the full Moon + 1 day, rose over Lake Michigan...

This was not filtered and is as it rose. One of our members here decieded to take a Moonlit swim in the lake as I was taking this...

Later on it entered low laying clouds...

As it continued to ride into the clouds, it played among the sucker holes, beaming strong shafts of moonlight onto the Lake...like a scene from Close Encounters. Very Errie and quite cool!... ;D

The last shot of yours reminded me of yesterday's yellow Moon I observed.
