Today I discovered this web site and registered. Although I lived and worked in the Chicago area, I currently live in Canada. The colors represent the colors of the country flags.
Many years ago, I was an active amateur astronomer. Although I never owned a telescope, my 20x binoculars allowed me to visually track all of our solar system's planets except for Pluto. I would spend many hours lying on a lounge chair in my backyard gazing at the sky on clear nights. I even subscribed to the Sky & Telescope magazine and understood some of the technical articles. I especially enjoyed the star charts and articles that helped me locate Messier objects in the sky. And I also enjoyed using the Dance of the Planets software to advance my knowledge of astronomy.
Today, although I am no longer an active amateur astronomer, I gaze at my wall poster of the known universe and am in awe about the vastness of space as I wonder if intelligence life exists somewhere out there.
