During the evening of Thursday 2015 MAR 05, Jupiter’s Galilean satellite #1 Io will annularly transit #3 Ganymede, while #2 Europa is eclipsed by the shadow of Jupiter. Satellite #4 Callisto will appear near Io and Ganymede. Nearly two hours later, Io’s shadow will annularly eclipse Ganymede.

I'll be at work for both of these, but Io's shadow will be eclipsing Ganymede about the time I usually take my first break. Hmmmm...

Not sure how my images turned out, but I was able to catch a few minutes of Ganymede as it was eclipsed by Io's shadow. At first Ganymede was not its usual bright self, and I wasn't sure which moon it was, but it did start to brighten as Io's shadow moved off, Ganymede began to brighten to it's more usual magnitude. I'll try to post any pics this afternoon if I have any worthy of posting.
