I've discussed this video with some of my atheist friends (how I first found out about it), and even with some of our forum members, but I'm finally going to post it here for broader discussion.

Apparently some time in November this young earth creationist visited the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. She has posted a half hour video of her going through the Evolving Earth exhibit, "debunking" evolution as she goes. As I could only watch a few minutes at as time before she made my brain hurt, it took me quite a while to watch the full video.
It bothers me very much that this kind of willful ignorance is acceptable in certain segments of our society, looking down on highly trained scientists who spend years gathering and interpreting evidence of our planet's evolution, the evolution of life on our planet, and cosmic evolution in favor of their mythology. The woman in this video home schools her children, so that they are deprived of any real scientific understanding of nature. How have we come to a point where a small, but very vocal minority can accept a mythological book without question, yet deny overwhelming evidence shared by the scientific community?
In late October I went to the Field Museum with my family, and went through this exhibit with my church-going sister and brother-in-law. While I disagree with their religious views, they both accepted the science as we went through not only the Evolving Earth exhibit, but the entire museum. Why is it that the religious community who accepts science doesn't do a better job of exposing people like Ken Ham and Ray Comfort as disingenuous at best, and outright frauds at worst? The woman in the story linked to above won't even acknowledge the contributions of science because it clashes with her mythology. Science freely admits to revising hypotheses and theories as new evidence is uncovered. Why can't religious zealots do the same?
