During the evening of Sunday, March 23 for North Americans the shadows of the Galilean satellites Io and Ganymede will be seen simultaneously transiting Jupiter.

Chicago Astronomers Bill and Javier will conduct a private session to observe/image this.

I cannot join them in a group session, but instead will attempt a session from home and see if I can image the transit.

I hope you had luck.

There will be a rare triple shadow transit on 2014 JUN 03. It will be a daytime event for North Americans, but should be visible in a telescope. In portions of Eurasia it will be a nighttime event. There will be a period in which two of the Galilean satellites will be in transit simultaneously with the three shadows, while another satellite is eclipsed (in Jupiter's shadow).
