We had an unexpected window of clear sky last night...
Telescope:
Celestron CPC800 at f6.3, on wedge (unguided)
Camera:
Canon 10D modded(full spectrum)
Stacked filters:
Orion Skyglow light pollutiom imaging filter
630 nm cheap Chinese filter(supposedly blocks all visible light except for some red including H-Alpha at 656.3 nm and near infrared).
The Orion Nebula:
1st pic - 18 secs. at ISO 800(converted to monochrome)
2nd pic - 08 secs. at ISO 800(original)
3rd pic - 33 secs. at ISO 800(converted to monochrome)
Results look promising!
The camera picks up light at least at twice the speed of a stock camera.
This filter combination should pass light from 630 nm to 700 nm where the LP filter has a sharp cutoff, blocking most of the near infrared!
Next time I intend to take several auto-guided long exposures at different ISOs to see what works best!
