Adler After Dark Halloween

Arriving at 7pm and dropped off at the Adler, I was greeted with long car lines waiting to park in the lot and a unusually crowded Planetarium for this Halloween Adler After Dark. Adler staff were dressed in costume and spooky activities for our visitors. (I heard there was free booze too!) When the numbers come in, this will probably be the highest attended AAD of the year.
Scope were already out and we had some instrument equipment problems. The 10" Meade that I usually use was already set-up and underutilized, so I grabbed the 4" Refractor and popped in my 2" eyepieces with polarizer filter. Worked out well, as the other scopes were only displaying segments of the lunar surface, whereas the refractor was providing a full orb for out visitors. Full Moons don't like strong magnifications and my walk-ups actually enjoyed the view better here.

The skies were not suitable for deep space objects, so really...it was just a Moon session...although some were targeting Alberio in scopes. I should have brought out the mighty Nikon 4" Refractor. It has been a long time since I last brought her out. Great contrast and razor sharp images.
