Fifth year for the Chicago Astronomer at the Pritzker Science Fair

Representing the Adler Planetarium, this was my fifth year as a presenter at the Pritzker Science Fair in Chicago's near north side. In previous early years, I utilized Adler scopes, but the inconvenience of logistical transport was too much of a hassle...so for the past few fairs I have been using my own equipment - and this was the first fair for the C102mm Refractor and the CG-5 mount.
The weather was 75 % cloudy and I was fighting to get views for this event and our students....
For most of our viewers, we had semi-success, enjoying good Sunspot activity...
Popping on the Full aperture Baader Solar Filter, there were interesting sunspot groupings to share for this event. Taking a quick couple of handheld shots, we were ready for our guests...
Many were fascinated that we could look at the face of the Sun safely and all had never done so before...
Many comments on how impressed they were on the telescope set-up and to be able to view through such an instrument. I tell them that this is the "Small" one and the flagship scope is the C11 Beast. I explained about the properties of the CG-5 Go-to capabilities, but real astronomers do it all manually....
Yeimi, from the Adler, was working the table inside and demonstrating properties of vacuum on various substances...
