A C11 test on Solar Imaging

As we continue to follow Super Sunspot #1711...I thought I would try out the C11 on the CG-5 mount....
It didn't go too well for a number of reasons..
More on this in another post, but imaging was substandard...
I was able to get decent close-ups, but the resolution was not there photographically. A combination of both the Orion Glass Solar Filter and an issue with collimation is the culprit here. Visually, I was getting some pretty decent views, but I could tell we were not 100%. And the Glass filter does not perform as well as the Baader films.
A project to replace the glass soon...!
So any way, we pop on the C102mm for our regular solar imaging...
The trusty refractor delivers good imaging...
I dig this pic above....like some skin condition...ew...
Again, the combo of filters, white balance and processing comes up a winner everytime...
Sun Spot #1714 is keeping up...
And...I like this spattering of the #1713 grouping...
Almost like a mini Taurus.
